25 December 2009 - Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone! Yesterday I found myself with a little free time and took off to ride the snowy trails of South Park. As I was unloading my bike, Rob pulled in to do a little trail running. We made plans to rendezvous back at the cars in about 45 minutes. The trails were mixed conditions, but passable. The ones on the golf course side were in better condition overall. I wound up drafting Rob on the Girl Scout double-track back to the cars. At the road we met Dave and Mike who were also riding. Dave had just finished a "gravity experiment" with one of the large stone blocks at the edge of the bridge. At that time Ann came by in her truck. We all agreed that a beer at Barley's and Hop's was in order. Kate took our picture just before Ann arrived. At that point it was a "normal" MBB gathering. We told stories, compared trail notes, and laughed. We also ran into some old friends and encouraged them to start riding with us in the Spring. Peace on Earth... Good Will towards man! :-)

24 December 2009 - Facebook Group

I just created the "Mud, Blood, and Beer" Facebook group. Seems like a lot of us share photos there, so I thought we'd give it a try.

20 December 2009 - WHen You can't roll ... Slide!

The picture says it all... the truck, the skier, and the driver all seem VERY familiar!

18 December 2009 - Tuesday Night Runs!

Lenny writes....

Yes the cold and cruddy conditions have finally set in and they're causing a moratorium on Tuesday night riding. In lieu of cruddy weather, I am planning on joining Rob on Tuesday nights for the new MBB Tuesday night run-if-it's-too-cruddy-and-muddy-to-bike, because hey, you can run in virtually any condition (I mean weather, not fitness!).

This past Tuesday, we did about 4-5 miles on the slick muddy trails and had a good old time catching up and planning out some races next year. I slightly tweaked my knee, from what I don't know, but likely from going from 0-4 miles running in the last three weeks to Tuesday. We shared a well-deserved beer at B&H before retiring. Is anyone else interested in this caveated ride?

Ride, run on! - Lenny

29 November 2009 - North Park Ride Recap

Lenny writes....

Drew, Cameron, Christian, and I ventured out to North Park for a 12-mile loop. The day was enticing us to ride with the uncanny late November gorgeous weather. We started off climbing then some dipsy-doos. The terrain is very similar to what you would get if you combined South and Frick Parks together with some quick pedal-mashing climbs and rooted descents with some interspersed features to play on. Christian broke his (fourth) chain on an uphill, and as I was helping him to fix it, I noted that you should route the chain correctly through the rear derailleur so as not to have to redo the process after you've linked the chain back up. I do not claim to abide by what I say, and routed the chain incorrectly and had to do it over. Doh! We found a nice jump that we all attempted and nipped us all once. Christian endoed on his attempt, and I ran over his bike after a terrible landing. Drew slammed into Cameron at speed after hitting the next jump. Then we found a log stilt feature that rew, Cameron, and I all conquered with some inspiring photographical angles by Drew up in a tree. The last feature was a rock bridge that I was able to live through after the third attempt. In the parking lot, we got a great video of Drew, Cameron, and I launching off of a dirt road into the angled grasshillside one after the other. Another you-missed-a-great-one day of riding.

25 November 2009 - Tuesday Night Riding!

Lenny writes....

The Tuesday night ride lives on! We had 9, yes, 9 people with headlamps out at South Park last night. The lineup was myself, Cameron, Greg, Rob, Marc, Mark, Mike #1, Mike #2 , and newcomer (but well practiced) Jeff. Cameron and I hurried from work to get a 20 minute warmup in. The rest pulled in around 6pm, and we headed out towards the Girl Scout Camp and turned it back to get Marc on the train. We headed towards the old seesaw up around the golf course and followed that to rooted-out section just above the soccer fields. I can't really remember the in-betweens because the pace was set to rabbit speed, but everyone was able to keep up and mingle. We finished with the group coming down from the Wave Pool then down the Girl Scout Hill, after I inadvertently led us into some horse stables in the annals of the park. On the way back in, we played on the Girl Scout fire ring, avoiding the loose logs around the ring that someone with malintent had put there - probably the same fabled fellow who hates fun and saws all of the logs off of the trail. Marc, Rob, Mike, Jeff, and I finished with a lap up above the parking lot and retired to the trucks around 8pm well worn. Most of us had to attend to other less important things as Marc and Rob ventured over to B&H. See you all there next Tuesday. Bring lights, warm clothes, and time for delicious IPA. ... Len

18 November 2009 - LOTS of Rides!

The weather has been incredible the past two weeks and the crew has been soaking it up in true MBB style! It's raining tonight, so it's a good time to work on the bike, lube the chain and get ready for the Saturday ride. A special shout out to Anthony ... call me if you need a lift on Saturday!

4 November 2009 - Email List for Winter Rides

With winter approaching and daylight getting shorter, we'll be doing more riding on the weekends. Although we'll try to post rides on the web site, the best way to stay informed is to join our email list. Use the form on the Mud (Rides) page to subscribe. You can also use the email list to let others know when you're going to ride. Once you subscribe, you'll receive instructions on how to post. Get the knobbys and the studs ready!

28 October 2009 - Halloween Ride!

Halloween

Cameron is going to lead a fun ride on Halloween! The ride will start at 2 P.M. in the parking lot near the South Park ice skating rink along Corrigan Drive (across the little side road, towards the VIP picnic area) at 2:00 P.M. It's a costume ride - so wear the most ridiculous costume that you can ride in, decorate the bike, and prepare to make ghoulish noises as we do a fun tour of the park. Afterwards we will go for a brewski or two....all with plenty of time to
make it to Halloween parties and trick-or-treating later on.

The Spookmaster reports "Riders not wearing costumes will be flogged, dipped in honey and covered in ants...but most likely we will still let you ride....maybe!"

22 October 2009 - Spectacular Colors!

Tonight Christian and I did a short, impromptu ride in South Park. The colors were off the hook! After a relaxing ride with no major injuries, we headed over to Barley's and Hop's and caught the last few minutes of happy hour. We were about to leave when Jessie popped in to get a glass and meet Rob. A few minutes later Kevin arrived and joined us. An awesome way to spend a great fall evening!

19 October 2009 - Muddy Sunday

Yesterday, Greg, Jessie, Rob, and I did a fun little impromptu ride in South Park. As you might imagine, the trails were mega-muddy! I'm definitely going to have to clean the bike off tonight if I want the wheels to turn on Tuesday! The Shoe Goddess(Barbara) laughed when I got home... over the years she's learned to judge how good the ride was by how much crud is on me and the bike. ;-) We all had a good time, but Jessie was definitely the star... far more graceful than me when dismounting... and never stopped smiling. After the ride, Rob and I hit Barley's and Hop's for a beer and the kind of great philosophical discussion that often follows an MBB ride.

12 October 2009 - Darth VadeR Watch OUT!

Darth Vader may occasionally be able to take over a universe or two, but he can't hold a candle (or LED) to MBB ingenuity! Our own Brew Master Greg has taken a break from fermenting to make some incredible "home-brew" lights for night riding. Cameron and Greg have been doing some night riding and are both raving about the experience. If you're interested in learning more, check out Greg's post here. There are instructions and links to all the stuff you'll need. For about $50 you get a powerful LED light that puts out about 420 lumens at max power! Here's a photo of Greg's Helmet that has Darth wanting to take up mountain biking!

Lights!

11 October 2009 - Welcome Rob & Jessie!

I want to extend a special welcome to Rob and Jessie! They bumped into Greg a couple weeks ago when they were fighting a brake problem in the parking lot. Last Tuesday they came back and Rob rode with the gang while Jessie ran in the park. Since my bike was in the shop, I took a most excellent nap during that period of time. When the ride was over, we all met up at Barley's and Hop's for our normal festivities! OK... it wasn't quite as wild as when Stephanie (the Yuengling rep) made everyone do tricks for tee shirts... but we laughed a lot and celebrated the latest additions to our crew! Welcome!

26 September 2009 - MBB Socks have Arrived!

MBB Socks

The new socks with the MBB logo have arrived! The MBB logo is on both sides of the cuff and the colors look great! They're super comfortable and very wicking thanks to the 75% micro denier acrylic, 15% nylon, and 10% spandex blend. They come in two sizes. S/M (men's 5-9 and women's 6-10) and L/XL (men's9-13 and women's 10-14). Each pair is $10. I'll have some at our rides and at the house. I hope to rig up electronic ordering later in the year. In the mean time, if anyone from out of town wants some, I'll be glad to accept payment through Paypal and ship them at cost via UPS; drop me an email or post a note in the forums to work out the details.

19 September 2009 - Revised Start Time for Tuesday Rides

Fall is definitely the best time to mountain bike around here. The only problem is that the day are getting shorted and the sun is setting a little earlier. Starting with our ride on 22 September 2009, we're shifting the start time for our regular Tuesday rides to 5:30 P. M. Mark your calendars and join us!

13 September 2009 - MBB Socks are Coming

Jason #3 (our Sock Guy representative) tells me that we should be receiving our MBB socks around 22 September 2009. Here's an artist's sketch of the design. The colors (especially the red) are washed out in the image, but you can get a good idea of what the socks will look like. The web site URL is on one side of the foot, and "Embrace the Ride" is on the other.

Socks

The cost of the socks will be $10/pair. I'll have them at our rides... or drop me an email if you need them sent somewhere. Cash and Paypal work.

6 September 2009 - Labor Day Weekend

I hope that everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend! A lot of people think of Labor Day as the end of summer... the MBB crew knows that it really signifies the beginning of the best biking season! Although we didn't have an official MBB ride this weekend, a number of impromptu rides went off. Cameron, Christian, Jason 2, and I went out today. The trails were almost prefect! We saw a fox, a small snake, and the usual number of deer. It was Christian's second single track experience... and he ended it with style. Cameron and I finished our ride with a wheel-to-wheel scream down the double track. As we were catching our breath and getting loaded up at the cars, we saw Christian carrying his bike, "wheels up" through the woods. It was the most amazing failure of the rear drive train I've seen in a long time: broken and embedded chain, sheared deraileur hanger, destroyed quick release nut, cables, etc. Welcome Christian!

Christian

26 August 2009 - Happy 50th Birthday!

MINI celebrated its 50th birthday today! Although not exactly a mountain bike, I think anyone who's seen The Italian Job would agree that MINI definitely shares some of the MBB bloodline. :-) Check out the details HERE.

22 August 2009 - Welcome Back Tom!

Greg, Geoff (with a G), Cameron, Tom (recently recovering from an encounter with a circular saw), Anthony, and I did a fun impromptu ride in South Park this morning. We headed across Corrigan, splashed through some fun mud and the creek, and made our way to the teeter-totter. While we breaking on the other side of it, we watched a dog do the teeter-totter a couple times! We shot Dragon's Tail, giggled over the Schoolgirl Mounds, climbed the hill to the road and then headed to the One-Way Spur. At the end of the spur, we made our way across the Grassy Knoll to the top of Sunny Slopes. We descended quickly and joyously. We wound through the woods to the police station. We made our way back the Buffalo Trail and others that parallel Corrigan Drive. After a really good finish through the momentum-sucking mud puddles on the double track, four of us headed over to Starbucks for some caffeine and sugar. Tom did an awesome job on his return to MBB! Glad you're back buddy!

3 August 2009 - Server Update Complete!

The fact that you're reading this means that the server migration is complete! Let me know if you find any bugs on the site or in the forums. A special THANKS to Jason for all the gratis help with the move!

30 July 2009 - **** Possible MBB Web Site Service Disruption ****

Jason and I are moving the MBB web site to a new server. The new server will allow us to improve the web site as we continue to grow. I also expect that the upgrade will solve some of the problems that people have encountered with the MBB email (majordomo) list. We may have a few service glitches (both web site and email list) while we move things over the next week, so please be patient. :-)

26 July 2009 - Lance Armstrong Foundation Benefit

Some of the MBB crew (Lenny, Paul, Kathleen, and CMU-Jon so far) are planning to participate in the LIVESTRONG Challenge, which benefits the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The Lance Armstrong Foundation inspires and empowers people affected by cancer. The Foundation believes that unity is strength, knowledge is power, and attitude is everything. Great philosophy... no wonder a bunch of MBB riders are long-time supporters of the LAF! . Please consider supporting our MBB riders. Here's a link to their Team page.

18 July 2009 - Get Well Tom!

Tom was out doing a good thing for humanity, building houses in Kentucky, when he encountered a circular saw blade to the back of the hand! OUCH! That's NOT how you're supposed to get bloody in this group. From what I hear, he still has all his digits, but had to have some reconstructive surgery to reconnect a few things. We hope you have a swift recovery Tom. In the mean time, I suggest that you consider dropping off Anthony with us to ride, and then head over to Barley's and Hop's to get started and save a table for the rest of us. :-)

14 July 2009 - Thats ONE!

Last Sunday, Cameron, Jason II, Crystal, and I did a little riding in South Park with Dieter's Bike. It was a perfect late afternoon ride, and noteworthy on a number of points. It was Crystal's first time riding single track. She of course went through the normal "I don't want to hold you guys up" phase. But it didn't take long before she got in the groove and was laughing as hard as the rest of us. When the ride was over, she had a little blood on her legs... and finished her first MBB adventure with a couple of beers at dinner. The ride was also noteworthy for Dieter's Bike. Although Dieter hasn't logged many rides with us, his bike now holds the record for most riders (over a period of time) for a single bike. Welcome Crystal, and congratulations Dieter's Bike!

That's One!

6 July 2009 - New MBB Logo

The new MBB logo is here! A special thanks to Jason and The Goddess for their help in coming up with a very graphic design that will reproduce well and is easily recognizable.

MBB_Logo_02

I'm investigating what it would take to get the logo printed on some cycling socks, wicking layers, and polo shirts. Stay tuned!

4 July 2009 - Happy Independence Day!

Yesterday, Camilla, Cameron, Eric, Greg, Dave #2, Drew, and I celebrated the holiday with a MBB Independence Ride! There was a LOT of mud, but the trails were in surprisingly good shape. Dave #2 did a fine job periodically making sure that the ground was solid enough for the rest of us. Eric and I set the record for closest tire-to-butt separation during the ride... 1.5 inches. (His butt, my tire.) Drew battled some chronic chain jumping. As we made our way back to the parking lot, Camilla and I both got pinch flats and had to walk the last 500 yards. We managed to time things out so that Greg had time for one beer before heading off to a barbeque. The Goddess, Nicole, Dieter, Jason, and Tom all joined the riders at Barley's and Hop's for some beer and laughter. Classic MBB!

1 July 2009 - Forums Reopened

As most of you know, earlier this year we had a SPAM posting problem on the Forums. To combat the problem, back in February I shut off new forum registrations. I just finished installing a security patch to the forum software that will hopefully take care of the spammers, and am now reopening new registrations. So please take a few minutes, look around the Forums, enjoy, and let me know if you have any problems.

27 June 2009 - Happy Birthday Cameron!!!

Cameron and I celebrated his birthday with a semi-impromptu ride in South Park this morning... and had an absolute blast! The trails in South Park are in great shape. A lot of the deep mud is dried out now and the runs are getting fast again. During our 7-mile ride, we sweated, laughed, and took time to watch a doe and her two spotted fawns try to fake us out like they weren't there. Afterwards we hit Starbucks for beverages and birthday cookies! The perfect ending to our morning!

20 June 2009 - Up the Buffalo Hill

Brewmaster Greg, sent me this pic from the ride last Tuesday... there must be beer at the top of the hill!

Buffalo Hill

Seems like Greg is always the first one at the top of the hill! ;-)

17 June 2009 - Next Generation!

We're happy to announce the arrival of our latest MBB member... Maia! Born on 1 June 2009, in the United Kingdom, Al, Connie, and Maia are all doing well... although there's definitely a lack of sleep in the household. ;-) I'm just glad that she got her looks from Connie! :-) CONGRATULATIONS!!!

maia

8 June 2009 - Back from Vacation

We're back from Dominica, so hopefully the posts will be a little more regular now. Although there wasn't any biking on the little volcanic island, there was plenty of adventures... hiking, bouldering, 300-foot water falls, kayaking, snorkeling, and even a few LARGE snakes. :-) I'm also happy to report that Amanda and Jason got engaged while vacation with us! Wahooooo!

20 May 2009 - South Park Ride Recap

We had another GREAT Tuesday ride this week! A total of 9 riders enjoyed some wonderful trail conditions for about 90 minutes. Then we headed over to Barleys and Hops for some refreshments. Our Brewmaster (a.k.a., Greg) was on hand to help with selections. John (from PORC), a couple guys from the gym, Jodi and Ann showed up to round out the crowd. These Tuesday rides are really catching on!

17 May 2009 - Fruita Video

I found a couple of online videos of some trails we road in Fruita. They weren't filmed by us, but they give you a good feel what the riding is like out there... and we plan to go back! Here are the links:

Zippity Do Da!

28 APril 2009 - Fruita Was AWESOME!

We had an awesome time at the 14th Fruita Fat Tire Festival in CO! We'll be sharing many stories at post-ride MBB refreshment sessions for months to come! I'll post a bunch of photos (and hopefully a few videos) once we get all of our images collected from Jeff, Tiffany, Nick, Travis, Corey, and myself. For now, here a peek at what we saw:

21 April 2009 - Forums Registration Suspended

There's been another wave of SPAM-bots creating fictitious usernames and posts on our forums. I've suspended interactive forum registration until I can find an effective patch. In the mean time, registered users can continue to post as usual. If anyone new wants to register, let Cameron or I know and we'll do a manual registration.

15 April 2009 - Good ride on Monday!

On Monday, CMU-Jon, Greg, Cameron, Camilla, and I hit the trails in South Park. The slightly later start time seemed to work better for everyone. We took a new route, and kept up a slightly faster-than-usual pace to beat the rain. The move of the night went to Camilla... After going over a small jump, she realized that her trajectory was headed for a tree... so she executed one of the most graceful bail-outs I've seen recently. As I rolled up to her lying on the ground, I heard her laughing in true MBB spirit! Later we met up with Mike (another CMU guy who we occasionally run into). Jon and Mike wowed us with their single-speed skills. Greg was happy that his bike was no longer a single speed (thanks to a new derailleur). The rain started rolling in at the tail end of the ride, but not before we had a good 1.5 hours of riding in!

12 April 2009 - new ride times

It looks like spring has finally arrived! With the longer days, we'll be starting our weekday ride times a little later. So take special note of the start times of upcoming rides.

9 April 2009 - Anniversary Ride recap

Our third season was kicked off in true MBB style this year! We all heard the official MBB horn sounding as Greg drove into the parking lot. Minutes later, Greg, Geoff (with a G), CMU-Jon, Kathleen and I set off to the Upper Warm Up Loop. As we entered the double track, someone yelled out "CAR!" Yes... car... or more precisely a truck... sideways in the path. The guy in the truck was a bit perplexed, but kindly waved us past before he continued burying the tires deeper into the ruts. We met up with Jeremy and Drew at the Girl Scout Camp right at 6 P.M. The the group crossed Corrigan drive to play on the golf course side. Shortly after the Pavilion Roof, Greg's rear derailleur destroyed it self.. and I do mean DESTROYED. Greg and Jon did some McGiver-style repairs and soon Greg was riding a single speed. Well... at least for 100 yards. It was OK though, Jeremy and Drew retrieved Greg#2, a late rider who called in for a meet. After a few trys, the crack mechanic team got the machine tuned up and Greg managed to nurse things back with us through the 100 Acres area. When he emerged from the woods, he was greeted wiith a kiss from Meredith who was out running. Back at the cars, we sounded the official horn again and inspected Greg's new single speed while receiving a fine lecture on the finer points of home brewing. I had to head home to be with the Shoe Goddess (who was a little under the weather), but the rest of the crew headed over to Barley's and Hop's for some post-ride fun.

Gregs_Bike

Ouch! CMU-Jon Helping Greg convert his bike to a single speed!

4 April 2009 - Upcoming Trash Race on 19 April 2009 - South PArk

PTAG is sponsoring a Trash Race on 19 April 2009. It's a great way for us to helpkeep South Park trails clean... and have a lot of fun while doing it! Click here for details and/or find a race partner!

28 March 2009 - Frick'in Ride! ...and Brew Day!

CMU-Jon lead Robby and I on an tour of Frick Park that included a bunch of trails that I'd never been on before! The trails were definitely muddy and slick in places, but we managd to ride for just under two hours without any major blood. There was one instance, however, when I fell from a perfect standstill, down a small drop into a creek. I smacked my ankle, but it was mainly my pride that hurt. ;-) While we were hitting the trails, it was Brew Day at Greg's (a.k.a., our own Brew Master) place.

24 March 2009 - Ride Recap

Tonight, six of us rode a new route that Greg and I have been working out. CMU-Jon, Greg, Eric, Geoff (with a G), Cameron and I left the parking lot in South Park, crossed Corrigan, and headed right to the teeter-totter. We shot down the Dragon's Tail; many took the new little jump at the bottom. We headed back into the woods and made our way over to the Techno Trail. When we emerged, we headed up the little road past the Nature Center and took the trail towards the model airplane field. We cut right and climbed the road to the parking lot that's at the head of the Swoosh Trail. There we startled two folks who were enjoying the warm weather in their cars. The portion of the Swoosh Trail that dropped us onto the Surreal Trail was challenging, but we all made it. We took the upper trail to the Stop & Puke, took the Girl Scout Hill Down, and rode the double track back to the cars. CMU-Jon, Greg, Eric, Geoff (with a G), and I headed over to Barley's and Hop's for a beer before calling it a perfect night!

21 March 2009 - Trails & Horses

Greg and I hooked up with Gwen for an impromptu ride this afternoon. Trail conditions continue to improve. There are a lot of horses out there, so please be cautious and give them the right-of-way. A lot of horses get spooked by mountain bikers... especially now, when they haven't seen many in quite a while. The riders are always very grateful (and often surprised) when we pull off and let them pass. Share the trails and embrace the ride!

17 March 2009 - Improved Trail Conditions in South PArk

WOW! The trail conditions in South Park are greatly improved over last week. The dryer weather has made the mud much more manageable. Greg, Geoff, Cameron, and I set out from the parking lot right at 5:30. Soon into the ride Camilla caught up to us on the Upper Warm Up Loop. The 67+ degrees and sunshine made it the perfect night to be outside. After the loop, we made our way past the Girl Scout Camp and through the woods along Corrigan Drive. We hopped across to the other side of the park, shot over the pavilion roof, hit the titter-totter, and shot down Dragon's Rain. We came across Eric who was walking... Cameron scared the living daylights out of his new dog, but she seemed to warm up to us after a little sniffing. Camilla got the blood award of the night for an encounter with a log. Later, I lost trajectory when going over a log and did a little tree hugging of my own. Cameron got the "that was cool" award of the night for mastering the ramp at the bottom of Dragon's Tail. We found our way back to the cars via the Hundred Acres Trail. Geoff and I met Ann and Jodi (who rode earlier) at Barley's and Hop's. As we were in the parking lot admiring Jodi's new 29'er, we ran into Hardcore Tim and Lauren who unfortunately missed us in the park.

14 March 2009 - Jason's Presenting at web design day

One of our long-distant supporters, Jason, is going to be blowing through town next month to give a talk at Pittsburgh Web Design Day. In addition to working at myhapyplanet.com, Jason designed and maintains the Goddess' web site and has provided much appreciated gratis advice on setting up and running mudbloodandbeer.com. If you know anyone interested in web design, be sure to tell them about the conference and have them look up Jason.

10 March 2009 - Three Riders ... awesome weather

Well, the day was certainly less than inspirational... blustery, gray, and rainy. A long time ago, Robby taught me never to assume that an evening ride will be anything like what you expect based on the weather through the day... and he was certainly right this time. In the South Park parking lot, I met up with Greg and our newest rider, Gwen. The sun came out and the woods were beautiful! We hit the double track to the girl scout camp and then made our way through the very muddy trails that parallel Corrigan Drive to the Nature Preserve. Along the way all three of us did some creative dismounts. Greg realized the importance of unclipping when dismounting on a steep uphill. I realized how quickly 3 inches of mud can stop a mountain bike, and Gwen realized what happens when a little white tee shirt hits a pile of wet slippery mud. We were all a mess, panting and laughing all the way. We made our way back past the underwear dumpster and broke off before the model airplane field. We hopped on the Swoosh Trail (a new one for me) that ties in with the Surreal Trail. Lots of mud everywhere! We climbed up the Wave Pool Drive, took a break at the Stop and Puke, and told Gwen stories of Al. The mud was so thick that we actually had to pedal going down the Girl Scout Hill! Covered in mud and runoff we took the double-track back to the vehicles. Greg and I headed over to Barley's and Hop's for a beer; Gwen went home in search of dry clothes.

7 March 2009 - GREAT Ride!

It was a stunning day in South Park! We started with 6 riders (Greg, Robby, Cameron, Geoff, Andrew, and myself). Before long, Camilla and Jason caught up with us. Jeff ran a little late, but connected at the end of the ride to bring our total to 9! It was nice to have Camilla, Jason, and Andrew ride with us for the first time! You're always welcome. The trails were a little muddy, my legs were a little sore, and the pace was slow, but we had a blast as usual. Afterwards, a handfull of us went over to Barleys and Hops to catch up a bit. With daylight savings time arriving, we're going to start scheduling rides during the week. We plan to rotate days based on weather and group preferences. We'll also play with the starting time to figure out what's best.

5 MArch 2009 - Warm Weather Coming

Looks like we going to have weekend weather in the 50s, so let's go riding! Watch the ride list as the weather gets warmer, the days get longer, and we shift to Daylight Savings Time!

3 March 2009 - California Trails

Killer pictures from Cameron and Lenny in California! Check them out here in the Forums!

27 February 2009 - Fruita countdown on Ride List

A special thanks to Jason for adding a Fruita countdown script to the ride list on MBB Home page!22 February 2009 - New beer review - Weyerbacher Quad

14 February 2009 - Forum Members Please Log In

Earlier this month, we had a flurry of SPAM-bots posting adds in the Forums. Today I installed some patches that should help keep them out. I also sent out an email to all Forum members asking them to log in so that I can clear out any old or duplicate user IDs.

13 February 2009 - New Web Site Format

I'm experimenting with a slightly different web site format. The center portion of the HOME page will contain dated headlines. The general description of the group has been moved to the BLOOD page. So now you can get a quick update of what's going on, see when the next ride is, and see the list of available beer reviews (Greg promises me that another one is coming shortly!) all in one spot.

11 February 2009 - Three Confirmed to Fruita, CO

We're up to 3 people going to Fruita in April! Jeff (with a J), Tiffany, and I have reservations in Colorado! Check out the forum topic for videos and more details. There's still one open bed on our reservation! It should be a great way to start the season!
